Silver: Cuban’s lack of involvement avoided ban

11:51 PM ET NEW YORK — Some have wondered why the NBA didn’t suspend Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban after an investigation found that male members of the organization harassed female employees. Commissioner Adam Silver said Friday he decided against suspending Cuban, in part, because an investigation concluded that the owner wasn’t directly implicated in the conduct. “That was an important factor for me in making that decision,” Silver said Friday after the league’s board of governors meetings in Manhattan. “Should he have known in many cases? Absolutely. But again, from the 215 witness interviews, the over a million pages

Tiger Woods tee time: BMW Championship 2018 third round start time and pairing

Woods, along with Ryder Cup rival Rory McIlroy, lipped off the pace after the second round of the BMW Championship yesterday.

The duo both carded opening rounds of 62 but finished the second day five and four shots adrift of new leader, and Ryder Cup hopeful, Xander Schauffele.

“I hit it just as good and putt it just as good. Nothing went in. That’s the way it goes,” Woods said.

“That round was easily six, seven-under par. It turned into even par which is not what I needed to do.”

Woods has joined fellow Nike-sponsored athletes in defending Colin Kaepernick after the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback became new face of the brand’s ‘Just Do It’ campaign.

Kaepernick drew controversy for kneeling during the US national anthem prior to NFL games but Woods has backed Nike’s decision to run with the campaign.

“I think Nike is trying to get out ahead of it and trying to do something special and I think they’ve done that,” said the 14-time Major winner.

“It’s a beautiful spot and pretty powerful people in the spot.”

Woods was due to start his third round at 5.40pm BST, however, this is expected to be pushed back as heavy rain forced play to be delayed in Philadelphia.

The Ryder Cup wildcard will play alongside fellow American Ryan Armour and will begin his round at eight under par.

Woods can currently be backed at 20/1 to win the event, or 12/5 to claim a top five finish (odds courtesy of Betfair).
